About Bulgari jewelry
Bulgari was founded in Rome in 1884 by the Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari, and its flagship on Via dei Condotti opened in 1905. The house signs its pieces BVLGARI, with the V of classical Latin inscriptions.
From the 1960s Bulgari became known for bold gold and cabochon colored stones in place of the all-white diamond look of Paris. Collectors look for vintage Serpenti snake jewels, Tubogas gold, Monete pieces set with ancient coins, and sapphire, emerald and ruby cocktail jewels from the 1960s to the 1980s.
