Monumental Cartier Gold Horse Trophy Clock, "The Cartier Million"

18 karat gold gold horse measuring about 1 foot tall mounted on malachite. The malachite is 3 inches tall.

15 inches total height

The clock is embellished with diamonds.

The Cartier Million was Europe’s richest horse race with One million in prize money.
A horse named Rinka Das won the Final Cartier Million race at the last horse racing event to be held at the Phoenix Park race course in Dublin Ireland on October 13th 1990.
The horse was trained by Dermot Weld, the jockey was M J Kinnane and it won at 7/1.
The winners of the last race were allowed to keep this trophy.
The trophy was designed by the esteemed Dennis Gardner, the head of design at Cartier (sketch below).
